Think green. Fun eco.
A tourist destination rich in attractions, characterized by an offering that integrates UNESCO heritage, outstanding food and wine excellence, and a multi-season outdoor system.
360-degree appeal, 12 months a year.
From Tirano to St. Moritz, 61 km of pure wonder take you across five Alpine ecosystems, all the way up to the sky at 2,253 meters at the Bernina Pass. Gradients of up to 70% conquered without a rack rail, 55 bridges suspended over breathtaking valleys, and 13 tunnels carved into the rock: a true masterpiece of railway engineering.
Don’t miss the icons along the route: the famous spiral viaduct of Brusio, a perfect helix that seems drawn into the landscape; Alp Grüm, with its enchanting view of the Palü Glacier; and the surreal contrast between the waters of Lake Bianco and Lake Nero.
Climb aboard and experience something that is not just a journey, but an emotion to remember forever.
In the heart of Tirano stands the majestic Sanctuary of the Madonna of Tirano, built in 1504 on the site of the Marian apparition to Blessed Mario Omodei. A Renaissance masterpiece that enchants with its harmonious proportions, exquisite decorations, and an atmosphere that moves even those who enter out of mere curiosity.
Just a few steps away, the timeless elegance of Palazzo Salis welcomes you among frescoed halls and Italian-style gardens, witnesses to a noble past that still carries the scent of history.
And for a journey even further back in time, the Grosio Rock Engravings Park offers a remarkable exploration of thousands of prehistoric carvings: an open-air museum where primitive art converses with the Alpine landscape.
Here, nature is not just observed—it is experienced, in every season.
In winter, the snow transforms the landscape into a paradise for winter sports. The Aprica-Corteno Ski Area is easily accessible and offers slopes for every skill level. The two alpine sides are also perfect for ski touring and snowshoeing, amidst silent forests and pristine panoramas.
When the warmer months arrive, the valley comes alive with energy. Cycling takes center stage along the Sentiero Valtellina, while the more experienced can challenge the legendary Mortirolo Pass or push themselves up to the Stelvio Pass. Trekking along the Via dei Terrazzamenti and high mountain trails is a must.
For those seeking an adrenaline rush, rafting through rapids or sport fishing in crystal-clear waters complete the experience.

For this reason, breakfast at our Eco-friendly Hotel in Tirano is uniquely made of local food and wants to reward the best produce of the Valtellinese short supply chain: fruit, honey, rye and buckwheat bread, milk, cheese, eggs, the “bresaola” and other homemade specialties.
